Life Food Friends – Immersive Food & Wine Experience in Piedmont
After years of restoring a 300-year-old farmhouse in Piedmont, Italy and where I have fallen in the love with the food, wine and agritourism businesses and producers, I am opening my house to a unique weeklong experience where you will get a chance to experience this magical place & live la dolce vita.
My goal is not to just teach recipes or techniques, but to show a slower way to live life, enjoy food and wine and interact with small producers (wine, cheese, farmers and chefs).
After a week, you will grow your ability to make exceptional meals with simple ingredients, gain confidence to cook without defined recipes, appreciate new wine varietals and hear firsthand about starting wineries, farms and business, from an amazing younger
generation of Italian entrepreneurs (female forward) that are driving innovative business in a very traditional country.
The participants who come, whether coming to learn new techniques, recipes, or to immerse themselves in a rural Italian village with the people and businesses that make their life and livelihood in the rolling hills, say that it was one of the best weeks of their lives. Piedmont is famous for Barolo, truffles and agnolotti and some of the most amazing
views with rolling hills, vineyards, olive trees and the alps in the background.
This weeklong (English Language) program includes cooking lessons at my house in a traditional Italian kitchen with a wood burning pizza oven and most days we will be interreacting with a local artisan (farmer, chef, winemaker, sommelier, cheesemaker).
If you have ever wanted an immersive experience in Italy, this is for you!

FAQs
Where is Piedmont? It is conveniently located in Northwest Italy and is 90 minutes from MXP and an hour from Turin’s airport. If looking at a map, my house is just 20 minutes from the city of Asti in the rolling hills.

What airport is closest?
Turin’s airport is the closest, but I find flying into MXP (Milan) easier for both car rental and not
having to drive through an Italian city after an international flight.
Transportation
You will need transportation, so a car is highly recommended for your convenience while you
are in Piedmont. Public transportation in rural Italy is extremely limited. If you do not have your own car, you can arrange with a local with taxi service, but the cost in Italy is much more expensive, but an option. We have found that attendees staying at the same hotel quickly group together to organize/share transportation.
Where to stay
Below are some of my and my guests favorite places to stay. There are others in the area, but these are lovely and have had positive feedback from guests. It is recommended that you stay no more than 20 minutes away.
B&B
Casa Rovelli – Run by the lovely Franchesca who has restored an old gentleman’s house.
She has B&B rooms, an independent house all with a lovely courtyard and pool with a
view of the rolling hills.
Entire House Rental
No. 18 Casa di Campagna – Run by a lovely British couple who moved to Piedmont to live the Italian dream, they restored a barn into a modern farmhouse. It has 3 bedrooms, a large pool and on a clear day, a view of the Alps.
Realis Hotel
Castello di Razzano – This old castle is a Realis hotel, with a restaurant, courtyard and pool.
